The scheme was designed by Bean Nicholson for the clients of the John Lewis Leckford Estate. Unique Projects was asked to become involved and worked alongside the Main Contractors who were in the final stages of a significant renovation of the house. Initially our remit was to deliver the Sunken Garden, but this later developed and we completed works in the wider area, with the John Lewis' Leckford Nursery team managed by Shaun Beale carrying out the planting scheme.
We started this project in January 2020 and after weeks of cold and incessant rain, Covid descended and we, like many others, had to withdraw. The Spring saw us return following all government guidance and the scheme was completed.
The project specification required some bespoke materials and details, such as bullnose slate copings and treads, a hidden fire pit with a table top commissioned from a super yacht joiner and some exquisite paddle stone walling.
This project was entered into the Association of Professional Landscapers Awards that year and achieved a Silver award.
